JP Morgan Chase Among Big Banks Sued for Data Security Patents

A patent owner accused Bank of America, Capital One, JP Morgan Chase & Co. and eight other banks of infringing its inventions to comply with industry data and cybersecurity standards.

Banks are among the most persistent targets of malicious cybercriminals, and these banks have historically relied on methods for backing up data and disaster recovery systems like DigitalDoors Inc.’s patents to protect their networks, the patent owner said in separate complaints filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
