A jewelry maker accused a competitor of stealing the artist’s intellectual property by copying engagement ring and wedding band designs from website pictures and social media pages, according to a new federal lawsuit.
The Art of Jewels and Fine Art LLC stole the copyrighted designs of Verragio Ltd.'s rings and used the Verragio crest for its rings, according to the complaint filed July 26 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
“Jewelers and the public recognize the Verragio Crest as designating an exclusive source, thereby creating a goodwill which inures to Verragio’s benefit,” the lawsuit said. ...
