Jawbone Seeks to Block Fitbit Imports

In the battle of the personal fitness trackers, Jawbone Inc. is going for the jugular—seeking to stem the flow of Fitbit Inc.'s popular wristbands into the U.S.

Jawbone ratcheted up its legal battle July 8, filing a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) that seeks to bar imports of Fitbit activity trackers into the U.S. market.

The fight stems from Jawbone’s claims that Fitbit is infringing six patents, including ones for tracking a user’s sleep or activity, for suggestions to achieve weight loss, for protective coatings and for power management.
