Jawbone Ghost Rises Again to Sue Seven Over Noise-Canceling Tech

Patents originally owned by the bankrupt Silicon Valley darling Jawbone Inc. are at the center of new lawsuits seeking royalties from a rash of tech giants including Meta Platforms Inc., Sony Corp., and Panasonic Corp. over noise-cancellation features in their virtual reality devices, earbuds, and smartphones.

Jawbone Innovations LLC, the current owner of the eight patents at issue in all of the cases, filed the suits Tuesday in federal courts in New Jersey and in Marshall and Waco, Texas, both of which are known as patent-friendly venues.
