The owner of a “Thee I Love” trademark registration failed to convince the Supreme Court to revive an infringement lawsuit against a Jackson State University merchandise seller.
Lower courts tossed the suit because Business Moves Consulting Inc. didn’t include Jackson State—a necessary party to the case. That ruling that will stand after the justices declined to take the case Monday. Business Moves in 2020 accused Collegiate Licensing Co. LLC of infringing its 2018 trademark registration as it manages Jackson State’s merchandise rights.
