Jack Daniel’s Properties Inc. claimed in a lawsuit filed in Tennessee federal court that the maker of Jack’s Hard Cider infringed numerous federally registered trademarks for the name Jack and failed to uphold a 2013 settlement agreement over those names.
The complaint said Atomic Dog LLC, which purchased Jack’s Hard Cider from Hauser Estate Winery in 2018, updated its branding for the alcoholic beverage to include extensive, stand-alone use of the name “Jack’s,” which will cause consumers to confuse the brand with Jack Daniel’s.
