J&J Unit Owes $20 Million Over Knee Surgery Patent: Jury (1)

Johnson & Johnson‘s DePuy Synthes unit owes $20 million for infringing a patent related to knee replacement surgery, a federal jury in Massachusetts decided.

The jury on Monday also found DePuy’s infringement of U.S. Patent No. 9,492,180 was willful. The finding enables a judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts to increase the damages award up to three times.
