ITC Cases Mean No Agency Patent Look for Nintendo, SK Innovation

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board refused to review Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s challenge to a video game controller patent, taking note of the company’s infringement fight with Gamevice Inc. at the U.S. International Trade Commission.

South Korean SK Innovation Co. Ltd. was also denied review Tuesday in separate challenges it brought against an LG Chem Ltd. patent that is part of an ITC investigation related to electric vehicle battery technology. Other SK Innovation challenges were previously denied.
