Isaac Hayes’ Heirs Demand $3 Million Over Trump Use of ‘Hold On’

Isaac Hayes’ family threatened to sue former president Donald Trump for using the 1966 hit “Hold On (I’m Coming),” cowritten by the soul music legend, at rallies for his campaign without permission.

In a letter sent to Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee, Isaac Hayes Enterprises demanded the Trump campaign take down all videos that include the song, release an official statement saying the estate never endorsed the use, and compensate the family with a “very discounted” license fee of $3 million, according to a post on X on Sunday by Hayes’ son Isaac Hayes III.
