Iowa-based Drake University persuaded a federal judge to bar a nearby community college from using any devices, names, and symbols that bear a “D” logo it says causes confusion with its own brand.
The Des Moines Area Community College Foundation should be blocked from using the contested “D” logo because Drake established a likelihood of success for its trademark infringement claims, Chief Judge Stephanie M. Rose said in an order granting preliminary injunction filed Nov. 22 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
