Interscope Records and rapper Playboi Carti defeated a lawsuit from hip-hop performer Jordan White alleging improper use of takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
White failed to show that Interscope, formally known as UMG Recordings Inc., acted in bad faith in filing the notices regarding White’s song “Oi!,” Judge Analisa Torres wrote in a Tuesday order granting the label and Carter summary judgment in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
