InterDigital Expands Amazon Clash With Content-Delivery Patents

InterDigital Inc. filed a federal lawsuit against Amazon.com Inc. and its Amazon Web Services Inc. unit, accusing Prime Video, CloudFront, and Fire devices of infringing six content-delivery network patents.

Amazon’s streaming platform and underlying cloud infrastructure infringe US Patent Nos. 7,921,259, 10,116,565, 8,745,128, 9,015,416, 8,868,701, and 8,583,769, according to the complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas’ Midland/Odessa Division. Co-plaintiff DRNC Holdings Inc., an InterDigital subsidiary, acquired the patents from Edgio Inc. in January 2025.
