Intel’s Delaware VLSI Case Paused Until Texas Suit Resolved (1)

A federal judge in Delaware paused Intel Corp.'s lawsuit seeking a declaration that it’s licensed to use all of VLSI Technology Inc.’s patents, finding a related case’s trial in May will simplify the dispute.

Judge Colm F. Connolly, ruling from the bench after a hearing on Wednesday, granted VLSI’s request to stay the case in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. A declaration that Intel is licensed to use all of VLSI’s patents would protect the chipmaker from a pair of infringement suits in Texas.
