Intel, VLSI Patent Trial Canceled After Positive Covid Tests (2)

A West Texas judge canceled a high-stakes patent trial between Intel Corp. and VLSI Technology LLC after positive Covid-19 tests among participants.

Judge Alan Albright of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas excused jurors Tuesday morning. He said there had been a “couple” positive Covid-19 tests. Trial opened Monday in a courtroom in Austin.

“Trial is canceled,” Albright said.

A law clerk in Albright’s office said they found out about the positive test results Tuesday morning. A new trial date hasn’t been set.
