Intel Says Processor Patent Suit Breaches Covenant Not to Sue

A complaint filed against Intel Corp. alleging infringement of multicore processor patents breaches a 2007 covenant not to sue, according to Intel’s own lawsuit filed in the Northern District of California April 25.

Intel asserts that PACT agreed not to assert any of its processor patent rights against Intel based on the manufacture or sale of “any of Intel’s products.” Intel’s technology also doesn’t infringe the patents, the complaint says.
