Intel Files Delaware Suit Against VLSI Over Patent License Deal

Intel Corp. fired another salvo in its long-running fued with VLSI Technology Inc., filing a new lawsuit contending that it has a patent license that shields it from billions of dollars-worth of liability.

Intel is seeking a declaration from the US District Court for the District of Delaware that it’s licensed to use all of VLSI’s patents, which would protect the chipmaker from a pair of suits in Texas, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
