EOFlow Co. Ltd. must pay Insulet Corp. $452 million for stealing trade secrets related to its insulin pumps, a Massachusetts federal jury ruled.
Insulet established the Korea-based company stole four of five alleged secrets and was owed $170 million in compensatory damages plus exemplary damages, according to the Dec. 3 verdict in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Insulet’s lawsuit claimed EOFlow hired several high-level employees who brought stolen intellectual property with them to create its EOPatch 2 product to compete with Insulet’s Omnipod pump.
