Innoscience Next-Gen Chips Hit With US Import Ban in Patent Case

The US International Trade Commission banned imports of Innoscience (Zhuhai) Technology Co.'s next-generation semiconductor devices, affirming a trade judge’s July finding that the Chinese firm infringes a California company’s patent.

Innoscience’s gallium nitride-based, or GaN-based, power semiconductor devices infringe Efficient Power Conversion Corp.'s US Patent No. 8,350,294, according to a notice issued Thursday. The ITC, a quasi-judicial agency with the power to stop infringing products at the border, issued limited exclusion and cease-and-desist orders barring imports of infringing products until the patent’s expiration in August 2030.
