A social media influencer accused of copying another creator’s content and aesthetic fired back against a proposed amended complaint, dubbing it “a tactical ploy” that should be rejected by the court.
Attorneys for influencer Sydney Nicole Gifford had until Nov. 30 to ask for leave to amend her intellectual property claims against Alyssa Sheil, accused of stealing Gifford’s content and online aesthetic. But court rules required Gifford’s counsel to make a “good-faith” effort to confer before moving to amend the complaint, Sheil told the US District Court for the Western District of Texas on Thursday.
