Infineon Technologies AG convinced an administrative tribunal invalidate an AmaTech Group Ltd. patent that’s been asserted against credit card makers in a pair of federal lawsuits in Delaware.
The US Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled Monday that US Patent No. 9,195,932‘s seven disputed claims were anticipated by and obvious in light of patents issued by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Japan Patent Office. Three of the patent’s remaining claims were disclaimed by AmaTech following the challenge.
