In Reversal, Board Says WiTricity Patent Claims Likely Invalid

Momentum Dynamics Corp. convinced an administrative tribunal to review a WiTricity Corp. patent related to wireless charging systems for electric vehicles, months after the board said it didn’t think any part of the patent was likely invalid.

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board in December denied Momentum’s request for review of U.S. Patent No. 7,741,734 because it didn’t think there was a “reasonable likelihood” Momentum would win its challenge to any of the patent’s claims.
