Impossible Foods Inc. will take over Motif FoodWorks Inc.'s business related to heme, a compound that helps give meat—and the companies’ plant-based meat—its flavor, as part of their settlement of a patent-infringement lawsuit with Boston-based Ginkgo Bioworks Inc. and Motif, a spinoff.
The companies announced the resolution Wednesday, a day after Judge William C. Bryson approved the settlement in a dismissal order in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Neither side will be able to renew any allegations made in the case.
