Illumina Hit with 10X Genomics Patent Suits Over Sequencing Tech

10X Genomics Inc. sued Illumina Inc., accusing it of infringing patents covering single-cell genetic sequencing and spatial technology.

Illumina’s products and systems infringe a total of nine patents, according to two lawsuits filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. 10X Genomics filed one lawsuit with patent owner Prognosys Biosciences Inc. as coplaintiff and the other with patent owner Roche Sequencing Solutions Inc.

An Illumina spokesperson said in an email the company denies the allegations and, “will vigorously defend ourselves against them.”
