ILife Sues IRobot in Pre-Emptive, Roomba-Related Trademark Suit

Shenzhen ZhiYi’s iLife said it wants to “eliminate any doubt” that it infringed iRobot’s “Home Base” trademark for its Roomba vacuum charging station.

ILife is seeking a court order declaring it hasn’t infringed any of iRobot’s trademark rights, according to a complaint filed July 23 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

IRobot sent a letter on June 20, accusing iLife of infringing its Home Base trademark because the phrase “charging home base” appeared on iLife’s website, user manuals, and packaging, according to the complaint.
