A muscle recovery company accused 16 manufacturers and retailers of knocking off its design for percussive body massagers in a barrage of lawsuits filed Tuesday at federal courthouses in four states.
Patent infringement complaints by Hyper Ice Inc. and its intellectual property subsidiary, Hyperice IP Subco LLC, targeted retailers including Costco Wholesale Corp., Macy’s Inc., Home Depot USA, Walgreen Co., and Kohl’s Inc., as well as the makers of Sharper Image and Homedics branded massagers, which pummel sore muscles with a handheld, rapid-fire piston.
