Hulu convinced an administrative patent tribunal to cut claims from the final two patents underpinning a separate lawsuit against the streaming giant, setting the stage for the Disney- and NBCUniversal-owned platform to shake off SITO Mobile’s infringement claims.
The Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled Tuesday that all of the challenged claims in SITO Mobile R&D IP LLC’s US Patent Nos. 10,009,637 and 10,171,846—both dealing with routing of media—are unpatentable because they cover obvious innovations.
