HPE, VirtaMove Agree to Resolve Texas Software-Patent Dispute

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. and VirtaMove Corp. are resolving a patent infringement dispute concerning software products.

HPE and VirtaMove notified the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas that they reached a settlement in principle, and requested a 30-day stay to finalize the agreement and file dismissal papers, in a joint motion filed Monday.

VirtaMove filed separate suits against IBM and HPE in 2024, alleging the companies infringed US Patent Nos. 7,519,814 and 7,784,058 through their computing systems. The cases were later consolidated, and VirtaMove’s claims against IBM remain pending, according to court records.
