HP Trademark Notice Draws Suit From Amazon-Blocked Laptop Seller

HP Inc. was hit with a Germany-based Amazon seller’s lawsuit asking a California federal court to weigh in on what he alleged is the company’s wrongful trademark infringement notice over laptops for sale that led to his account being closed.

“Buyingshops” proprietor Emek Ersoysal is seeking a declaratory judgment of noninfringement related to HP’s notice filed with Amazon.de in April 2023 that shuttered his business and pushed him to the brink of bankruptcy, the complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California said.
