HP Enterprise Gets Go-Ahead to Probe Blacklisted Firm’s US Ties

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. can pursue its $200 million patent suit over servers and data-center software, including by investigating whether China’s Inspur Group Co. secretly used US affiliates to sell infringing technology, a federal judge ruled.

Judge Jon S. Tigar allowed HPE to take limited discovery to determine whether the court has jurisdiction over Inspur and said HPE could proceed with claims based on three of its five asserted patents, according to an order issued Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
