House Republican Demands BOE Ban After ITC Trade Secrets Finding

The chairman of a China-focused House panel urged a federal trade agency to ban imports of BOE Technology Group Co. OLED display products, a day after the agency published an initial determination that BOE stole trade secrets.

BOE’s displays are used in “advanced military applications,” Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, said in a Tuesday letter to the US International Trade Commission. Moolenaar said not banning BOE imports would send “a dangerous message to” China “that its companies can continue to steal American IP at will.”
