Hotel Equipment Maker Sues Competitors Over Luggage Cart Design

Hotel equipment-maker Winsford Co. sued IHS Global Alliance LLC and Mobiliti Pty. Ltd., accusing them of infringing its trademarks for a “birdcage” luggage cart design.

Winsford owns federal and California trademark registrations for its birdcage design, which consists of four posts that converge inwardly at the top, according to the complaint filed June 27 in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The defendants sell nearly identical carts that infringe Winsford’s trademarks, the complaint said.
