Honeywell, Others Accused of Infringing ‘Smart’ Security Patents

Honeywell International Inc. and two other home security providers are the targets of patent infringement lawsuits involving lines of wireless and smart security products.

Circuit Ventures LLC, a Delaware company, alleges Honeywell, Scout Security Inc., and Alarm.com Holdings Inc. infringed four of its patents involving technology and functions of a security management system.

The companies’ products allegedly infringe, via motion sensory technology and approaches, Circuit Ventures’ U.S. Patent Nos. 7,256,683; 7,834,744; 8,816,869; and 8,912,893. The three complaints were filed May 7 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
