Honeywell Gets Competitor’s Patent Suit Counterclaims Tossed

Honeywell International Inc. convinced a Texas federal judge to throw out its competitor’s counterclaims accusing the manufacturer of filing a “sham” patent infringement lawsuit to monopolize the market for aviation software and analytics.

Lone Star Aerospace Inc., doing business as Lone Star Analytics, didn’t demonstrate Honeywell’s conduct was anticompetitive and created the likelihood of a monopoly, Chief Judge David Godbey said in a Sept. 4 memorandum opinion and order filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
