Hologic, USF Settle Mammogram-Imaging Workstation Patent Dispute

The University of South Florida Research Foundation settled a federal lawsuit that alleged a Hologic Inc. mammography system infringes its patent for a workstation that displays and manipulates digitized mammogram images.

Judge Jennifer L. Hall on Thursday approved a stipulation of dismissal the parties had filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.

  • USF sued Hologic in March 2020 alleging its SecurView DX Mammography System infringes US Patent No. 6,630,937, which it said “represents substantial advancements in medical technology as it contributes to improved cancer diagnoses through early observing techniques.”
