The top Republican on the Senate Judiciary’s privacy and technology panel released a framework to inform future legislation on artificial intelligence, the latest sign that Congress is weighing a regulatory response to the threats posed by AI.
Five principles — creating a private right of action, protecting personal data, enforcing age limits to shield minors, blocking Chinese-made technology, and requiring licenses for generative AI models — will “help set the course for the responsible development of American AI,” Sen.
