An Oklahoma federal court narrowed the scope of its injunction barring radio remote control maker Hetronic International Inc.’s European partners from selling trademark-infringing products, limiting its coverage to countries where Hetronic markets or sells products.
The order comes after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit upheld a $113 million award to Hetronic that created a new framework for how the Lanham Act applies to foreign defendants. The appeals court rejected the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma’s injunction, which covered the world.
