Olive, a software automation developer for medical providers, sued Alpha Health in federal court for allegedly using names it had already reserved in trademark applications.
Alpha Health, which helps providers manage revenue and medical reimbursement, violated the Lanham Act by using the Alpha name, Olive alleged in the lawsuit filed Aug. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Columbus, Ohio-based Olive, which also provides artificial intelligence tools and consulting services, submitted trademark applications for “Alpha” and “AlphaSite” in July, according to the complaint.
