A professional photographer says Gannett Co. Inc. published his photo of Harambe, the gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo who was killed after a toddler climbed into his enclosure, multiple times without his permission.
Jeff Tracy McCurry says Gannett previously published articles using the photo in one of its newspapers, The Cincinnati Enquirer, but says the company told him in 2019 that it wouldn’t publish the photo again after he’d contacted them, The Enquirer published the photo at least four times, listed in his complaint, since 2021.
