Halliburton Co. and Schlumberger Ltd. together agreed to drop more than two dozen petitions challenging 11 of each other’s patents before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
The companies filed a settlement agreement under seal, according to orders posted by the Patent Trial and Appeals Board.
Halliburton had asked the agency to cancel some of Schlumberger’s patents, saying they were covering ideas that had been around for years before the applications were filed.
Schlumberger responded with its own petitions challenging two Halliburton patents.
The case is Halliburton Energy Servs. Inc. v. Schlumberger Tech. Corp., P.T.A.B., No. IPR2017-01564, Order to terminate 6/13/18
