Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness and lifestyle company Goop Inc. settled a trademark lawsuit brought by sexual health products company Good Clean Love Inc.
GCL’s March complaint in Oregon federal court argued Paltrow’s company would overwhelm its trademarks and take over its good will in what’s known as “reverse confusion.” GCL accused Goop—which launched in 2008, five years after GCL—of intentionally using “Good. Clean. Goop.” as a trademark to benefit from its already established “Good Clean Love"mark.
