Gulfstream, Yacht Seller Settle Trademark Infringement Lawsuit

Aircraft giant Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. settled its trademark infringement lawsuit in federal court in Florida alleging a yacht company that uses the name “Gulfstream” is likely to confuse potential buyers, according to a new filing.

Gulfstream Aerospace sued Gulfstream Unsinkable Boats LLC for alleged trademark infringement in May 2020. The aircraft maker said the company sells its boats “at the same boat and yacht shows, in the same boating publications, and to the same customers” as Gulfstream Aerospace.

Gulfstream Aerospace said it spends significant resources promoting its private jets at yacht shows because its customers “commonly own both.”
