GoPro’s Omni Rig Only Remaining Item Facing Rival’s Patent Claim

GoPro Inc.’s Abyss and Odyssey multi-camera rigs don’t infringe a 360Heros Inc. patent for a 360-degree camera mount either literally or under the doctrine of equivalents, a federal judge in Delaware ruled, adopting most of a magistrate judge’s recommendation and leaving GoPro’s Omni rig as the only product accused of infringement.

Judge Matthew F. Kennelly affirmed Magistrate Judge Christopher J. Burke’s March 30 recommendation that he deny GoPro’s bid for a finding that its Omni rig doesn’t literally infringe the patent, according to an opinion Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
