Google’s Vizier Platform Violates Visier’s Trademark, Suit Says

Google LLC’s artificial intelligence platform Vizier infringes the trademark of software company Visier Inc., according to a complaint filed Monday in San Francisco federal court.

Visier, which sells predictive analytics software that uses machine learning, said it learned that Google was launching the Vizier AI platform for the public in 2021 after previously using the name internally. The platform can “automatically tune” parameters in machine learning models.

The similar names will cause both “forward” and “reverse” confusion among consumers, Visier alleged in its complaint in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
