Google Wins Invalidation of Three Event Recommendation Patents

Three patents that Google LLC was accused of infringing were actually invalid because they covered a function that humans have performed without technology in the past, a federal judge ruled.

Wildseed Mobile LLC sued Google and YouTube in 2022 for allegedly infringing five of its patents. The three that were invalidated were related to technology that uses information on someone’s mobile device and their location to recommend local venues or events that would appeal to the user.
