Google, Sonos Bring New Dueling Audio-Patent Cases (2)

Google LLC asked a San Francisco federal court on Monday to declare that it doesn’t infringe five Sonos Inc. patents related to the parties’ ongoing dispute over multi-room audio streaming technology. Sonos sued Google for allegedly infringing the patents the next day in Texas federal court.

Sonos sued Google in Los Angeles federal court in January for allegedly infringing five patents, and brought a related action at the International Trade Commission. Sonos said it partnered with Google to integrate Google Play Music into its audio platform, but Google then copied Sonos’ technology to use in its Chromecast Audio device, and ...
