Google LLC urged the Federal Circuit to let it defend claims it ripped off patented biometric authentication tech in California, where it’s headquartered, rather than Texas, where it was sued by Proxense LLC.
Proxense sued Google, Microsoft Corp., and Samsung Electronics Co., for allegedly infringing patents related to authentication of users of electronic devices through fingerprints and other biological markers. The Oregon company said the trio of tech giants infringed Proxense’s patents through touch-to-pay products. Proxense specifically alleged that Google infringed six of its patents.
