Google Says Pixel Products Don’t Infringe Headwater’s Patents

Google LLC filed a federal lawsuit in California seeking a judgment that its Pixel products and cloud systems don’t infringe developer Headwater Research LLC’s patents.

Pixel smartphones and watches don’t perform the same methods as US Patent Nos. 9,232,403 and 9,491,564, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Google said it wasn’t aware of Headwater’s infringement allegations until the developer sued its wireless carrier customers.
