Google, Samsung Settle Suit Over Phone, Laptop Chip Patent

Big tech companies including Google LLC, Apple Inc., and Microsoft Corp. have reached a deal to end claims that their phones and laptops infringe a semiconductor patent owned by an Irish patent-holding company amid a broader infringement dispute that also involves electric vehicle-makers.

According to a Friday notice, the companies—which also include Samsung Electronics Co., Lenovo Group Ltd., and OnePlus Technology—asked a West Texas court to dismiss Arigna Technology Ltd.'s claims that they infringe US Patent No. 7,183,835, saying the parties resolved Arigna’s claims.
