The consolidated lawsuit should be dismissed because it fails to clearly articulate creators’ accusations and improperly asserts copyright claims for an unspecified volume of works, according to a motion to dismiss filed Jan. 17. Google said the artists—including photographer Jingna Zhang, cartoonist Hope Larson, and investigative journalist Jill Leovy—used the complaint as a polemic against generative AI and is “even more confusing” than previous versions.
