Google Objects to New Claims in Consolidating AI Copyright Suits

Google LLC objected to what it said were plaintiffs’ inappropriate plans to add new information when consolidating an artificial intelligence copyright lawsuit brought by a group of artists with a similar one brought against the company by a journalist.

After initially expressing resistance, the artists and writer agreed last week to merge their lawsuits accusing Google of illegally using their copyrighted works to train its AI models.
